Corporations
January 6th, 2009I love
corporations
corporations own my soul
I believe
in corporations
across the nation, profits grow
they’re in control
they’re in control
they’re in control, control, control
I love
corporations
corporations own my soul
I believe
in corporations
across the nation, profits grow
they’re in control
they’re in control
they’re in control, control, control
we’ll make money
selling paper
to the federal reserve
printing pictures
on the paper
to show the purpose that they serve
I love Jesus and I respect Jesus but I won’t play Jesus again
I still love you
heaven hangs above you
no one knows better than him
who wants to play Jesus
who wants to know what life’s about
who wants the kingdom and
pieces of Jesus in your mouth
voice from the mountain
telling us all how we should live
who wants to save you
who knows we have so much more to give
Recorded this a few weeks ago, finally got around to creating a mix last weekend. It’s one of my favorite REM songs. For some reason, the band rarely (never?) plays it live. It’s not one of my most creative or interesting covers, rather straightforward — I’m just having fun with it.
